USN Bolton Arena undergoes £400,000 renovation work

The USN Bolton Arena has undergone £400,000 worth of gym renovation work over the winter, including the installation of Technogym Artis cardio equipment, with the facility one of the first in the country to adopt the new kit.

Work took place over two weeks from 16 to 31 December, as the gym also sought to invest in new Pure Strength plate loaded machines, free weights equipment and new functional training and spinning areas.

The new Artis equipment works in combination with UNITY consoles, allowing users to swipe, scroll and click through to a personalised platform of training programmes, training data records, web bookmarks, games and social networks.

The console is also the only one in the wellness and fitness field fitted with a web cam, allowing users to make video calls with their trainer, or their favourite contacts during their workout.

As well as additions from Technogym, the USN has undergone a redecoration of its gym area, as well as its changing rooms and health suite in order to create a new welcoming environment for members.

The gym has also improved its range of add-on sessions and classes for members, with the facility now offering unlimited free group and 1:1 boxing, kettlebell, core stability and circuit classes.

“We simply want to make Bolton Arena the best gym in the area. This investment will give us the best equipment to match what we believe is already the best service in the area," said Gwyn Hughes, the arena's commercial manager.

The facility is run by Bolton Middlebrook Leisure Trust.
